The SWD (Saltwater Disposal) Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of saltwater disposal facilities and associated equipment.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor SWD facilities, pumps, tanks, piping, valves, and related equipment.
Monitor pressures, fluid levels, flow rates, and overall facility performance.
Operate, inspect, and troubleshoot positive displacement (PD) pumps.
Perform routine equipment inspections and identify mechanical or operational issues.
Troubleshoot pump failures, leaks, pressure issues, and other facility problems.
Perform basic preventative maintenance and coordinate repairs when needed.
Monitor tank levels and ensure fluids are safely transferred and disposed of.
Maintain accurate operating logs, readings, and inspection records.
Follow all company safety and environmental procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Respond to after-hours callouts, alarms, equipment failures, and operational issues as required.
Work independently in the field and communicate issues to supervision in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Previous Salt Water Disposal experience required
Hands-on experience with positive displacement (PD) pumps highly preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience working with pumps, tanks, valves, piping, and pressure systems.
Ability to work independently and make safe operational decisions in the field.
Must be willing and able to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to callouts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the physical requirements of the position.
