Overview

The Pump Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a variety of pumps and rotating equipment. This role ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while following company and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair centrifugal, reciprocating, and positive displacement pumps.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble pumps and related equipment.
  • Replace bearings, seals, gaskets, impellers, shafts, and other mechanical components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, and rotating equipment.
  • Align pumps and motors using manual or laser alignment tools.
  • Conduct performance testing and verify proper equipment operation after repairs.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and equipment specifications.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Work with operations and maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience repairing industrial pumps or rotating equipment preferred.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and repair manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
