Overview

The Sr. Lease and Contracts Analyst is responsible for supporting the administration, maintenance, and control of lease records for producing and non-producing properties and interests that are acquired, owned, operated, or purchased. This role ensures lease data is accurate, complete, and properly maintained while supporting land operations, contractual obligations, and special projects including acquisitions and divestitures.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and input lease data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Prepare full and partial releases, assignments, and Exhibit A documents for producing properties
  • Assist with monthly lease calendar management
  • Support Land Operations as needed
  • Conduct lease and unit reviews for shut-in wells and process payments, subject to review and approval
  • Identify and track contractual obligations related to lease acquisitions, trades, and divestitures
  • Support departmental special projects, including acquisitions and divestitures
  • Track continuous development obligations to ensure lease compliance
  • Manage responsibilities for a designated area of operation
  • Interpret leases and contracts, identify issues, and resolve technical, data, and procedural concerns
  • Recommend alternative solutions to improve processes and systems
  • Process and track partner offerings and update records accordingly
  • Prepare agreement exhibits and lease/acreage reports for business units and leadership
  • Serve as a point of contact for landowners and stakeholders regarding property status and land administration matters
  • Maintain involvement with local and national industry associations through meetings and networking events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 6+ years of relevant lease and contracts or land administration experience in oil and gas required.
  • Strong knowledge of basic land principles and their application
  • General understanding of land terminology, contracts, and related processes
  • Ability to analyze land data and enter information accurately into land management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Quorum Land System and/or SAP is a plus
  • New Mexico lease and contracts experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, agility and fit for duty.
