Overview

The Construction Representative provides day‑to‑day field oversight, planning support, and safe‑work coordination for asset integrity projects, including NDE inspections, tank maintenance, and chemical treatment program activities. This position ensures that all work performed by contractors and internal teams aligns with Chevron’s safety standards, construction requirements, and operational expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required Managing Safe Work training for Permit Approvers and Persons Managing Control of Work (PMCoW).
  • Prepare or support the drafting of work permits and work plans with the PMCoW.
  • Verify all permit conditions and sign permits as Permit Approver.
  • Re‑validate permits in accordance with Control of Work standards.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work schedules with Asset Integrity Planners.
  • Communicate execution status and progress updates to Planners and Fixed Equipment Inspectors, including maintaining the Daily Tracker.
  • Report HSE incidents and near misses to Operations and Asset Integrity leadership.
  • Approve, track, and enter daily field costs.
  • Work with Field Planners to align Work Orders with site‑specific needs (EIS isolation/de‑isolation, PRV testing, thief hatch repairs/testing).
  • Coordinate planned work with Field Operations Team personnel, including Field Specialists, Surface Production Specialists, and Production Supervisors.
  • Arrange tank liquid hauling and removal with Operations teams or approved trucking vendors ahead of Tank Team activities.
  • Conduct field scoping to support work preparation and planning.
  • Develop Equipment Isolation Plans (EIPs) and obtain approvals from Operations and PMCoW.
  • Order and manage required parts, materials, and resources (cranes, hydro‑vac, hauling, replacement valves, piping, welding services, etc.).
  • Approve contractor field tickets based on completed work.
  • Validate and accept work performed by tank cleaning and coating vendors.
  • Coordinate resources to complete hydrostatic testing after tank repairs.
  • Work with Field Operations personnel to complete Tank Team Handover documentation or PSSR when an MOC applies.

Qualifications

  • 10+yrs of experience in oil & gas field operations, construction oversight, or asset integrity programs.
  • Strong understanding of safe‑work practices, permit systems, and isolation procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction standards, drawings, and inspection requirements.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across Operations, Planning, and contractor teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts and maintain accurate field documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in field environments across multiple basins.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements, including background, drug, MVR, agility, and fit for duty requirements.
