Overview

The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling field operations from a centralized control center to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production. This role oversees real-time production data, alarms, and system performance, responding to operational issues and coordinating with field personnel to maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor oil and gas production systems through SCADA and control systems in real time 
  • Respond to alarms, alerts, and abnormal operating conditions 
  • Analyze pressures, flow rates, tank levels, and equipment performance 
  • Coordinate with field operators, maintenance teams, and supervisors to resolve issues 
  • Initiate emergency response procedures when required 
  • Document operational changes, incidents, and shift activities in control logs 
  • Support start-ups, shutdowns, and system adjustments remotely 
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements 
  • Track and report production volumes and downtime 
  • Maintain clear communication during shift handovers 

Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years of Control Room Operator experience required. 
  • Experience with SCADA or automated control systems. 
  • Ability to interpret trends, alarms, and operational data 
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalentrequired. 
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, agility and fit for duty.
