Overview

A Chemical Specialist is responsible for monitoring, trending, and analyzing data to make and verify recommendations for chemical treatments and changes within the Production Superintendent’s area. This role involves working directly with engineers and foremen, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring safe handling and transport of chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Company and third-party systems to monitor, trend, and analyze data to make and verify recommendations for chemical treatments and changes within the Production Superintendent’s area.
  • Work directly with Engineers and Foremen to ensure wells are treated as efficiently as possible.
  • Implement cost-effective preventive maintenance programs for relevant equipment.
  • Witness H2S scavenger or media change out for towers.
  • Ensure the safe handling and transport of chemicals by employees and third parties.
  • Train company personnel in all aspects, to include but not limited to, common applications, safety, and basic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Review invoices for billed amounts versus treatment plan and work with Foremen and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate fluid sampling and validate accuracy and scheduling frequency.
  • Provide input at well reviews and failure meetings.
  • Ensure employees and contractors adhere to Company, Local, State, and Federal policies, rules, and regulations and work with EH&S to maintain compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or GED certificate required.
  • 2+ years of O&G Chemical service and technical experience a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant
    industry experience.
  • Must actively seek new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.
  • Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines and under all weather conditions.
  • Work involves standing and walking most of the time but will also involve sitting and driving for extended periods, sometimes over rough terrain.
  • Must have a clean driving record and pass all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, MVR, agility and fit.
  • Experience supporting production chemical applications within the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and
    resolving operational and chemical program challenges.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including experience building data
    tables, generating reports, analyzing large data sets, and supporting operational decision
    making through data analysis.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and support
    chemical injection equipment and gas treating systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable safety regulations, chemical handling requirements,
    and gas treating system safety practices.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical procedures while working in field environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service focused approach to
    supporting field operations, engineering teams, and vendor partners.
  • High attention to detail with demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records related to
    chemical treatments, equipment maintenance, and field activity reporting
