Overview

The Inspection Advisor II (Power Line Inspector) provides high-level technical expertise and leadership across inspection and quality assurance activities. This role supports project execution by ensuring equipment, materials, and construction activities meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The advisor works closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal engineering and quality teams to oversee inspections, manage quality documentation, and prevent or resolve quality issues across manufacturing, fabrication, and construction environments.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce safety within inspection and quality disciplines

  • Lead quality inspection activities across electrical systems, instrumentation, fixed equipment, rotating equipment, or NDE

  • Oversee third-party and contractor inspectors to ensure compliance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

  • Monitor fabrication, manufacturing, and construction processes for quality adherence

  • Review and validate supplier and contractor quality documentation and procedures

  • Coordinate between suppliers, contractors, engineering, construction, and quality teams

  • Lead oversight programs for high-risk or critical equipment inspections

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), final equipment releases, and punch list closures

  • Conduct audits and quality assessments, documenting deficiencies and corrective actions

  • Provide early identification and resolution of quality issues

  • Support development of inspection procedures, testing methods, and project plans

  • Travel to job sites as needed to provide technical guidance and compliance oversight

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field (preferred)
  • Strong background in quality assurance, inspection, or construction/project execution
  • Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environments
  • Recent hands-on experience in an inspection discipline (electrical, instrumentation, NDE, etc.)
  • Ability to lead inspectors and coordinate multi-disciplinary quality efforts
  • Strong technical judgment and documentation skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug (UA), MVR, agility, and Fit for Duty.
