The Compressor Mechanic is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of compressor systems, including Vapor Recovery Units (VRU), gas‑lift compressors, and instrument‑air packages. This role ensures reliable operation of field compression equipment to support production, safety, and environmental compliance.
Service and maintain VRU, gas‑lift, and instrument‑air compressors.
Perform advanced troubleshooting on mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
Complete component repairs, adjustments, and full compressor rebuilds as needed.
Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment condition reporting.
Ensure all compressor systems operate safely and meet environmental and emissions standards.
Support operations during equipment failures and provide technical guidance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and recommend corrective actions.
Mentor junior mechanics and assist with coordinating maintenance activities.
Experience in compressor maintenance, preferably in oil & gas operations.
Strong knowledge of VRU, gas‑lift, and instrument‑air compressor systems.
Ability to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and compressor control systems.
