The Compressor Mechanic is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of one or more compressors with responsibility of the compressor packages and equipment. Provides feedback for the operation of compressor packages. Planning and organization of PMs and other maintenance items. Has minimum of entry level diagnostic and repair skills. May assist other field locations/mechanics.
Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on natural gas compressors and auxiliary equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to engines, compressors, and rotating equipment.
Inspect, repair, and replace components such as valves, packing, pistons, rings, bearings, seals, and rods.
Conduct compressor overhauls and major maintenance activities.
Maintain and service lubrication, cooling, fuel gas, and air systems.
Diagnose vibration, temperature, pressure, and performance issues.
Perform startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, OEM manuals, and maintenance procedures.
Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
Communicate effectively with operations, supervisors, and engineering teams.
Maintain good housekeeping practices at all work locations.
