Overview

The Project Engineer II supports early project development and execution activities within the Oil & Gas industry, with a preference for unconventional (UNCON) assets. This role performs engineering design evaluations and supports project delivery within defined budget and schedule constraints. The Project Engineer II provides technical and coordination support across engineering, construction, and project controls activities while working under immediate supervision and established guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluations, and contractor selection
  • Support identification and sourcing of long-lead equipment, coordinating FEED contractor support until assignment to construction contractors
  • Coordinate development of EMCAPS (Capital Project Management System) Gate 3 deliverables
  • Coordinate development of Functional Interaction Plans
  • Manage and coordinate project issue resolution processes
  • Coordinate change requests and endorse change authorizations
  • Ensure assigned work scope is completed in alignment with overall Project Objectives
  • Engage project teams and functional resources to verify that design and construction activities comply with project specifications and standards
  • Serve as a key interface between the Project Team and Contractors
  • Ensure smooth transitions between project stages
  • Support and lead the Project Management Team (PMT).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience (early-career candidates will be considered)
  • Experience across engineering, construction, and project management / controls activities
  • Early project development experience within the Oil & Gas industry (UNCON experience preferred)
  • Multi-discipline skill set with exposure to multiple project phases
  • Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications, and work processes
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface management skills
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, agility and fit for duty.
