Overview

The Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer will support engineering, construction, and commissioning activities for unconventional oil & gas facilities. This role requires strong hands-on experience across instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems (low and medium voltage), with the ability to interface across engineering, projects, and operations teams. The position is Houston-based with regular travel to North Dakota field locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support I&E design engineering, construction oversight, and commissioning activities
  • Provide technical expertise for automation and control systems across upstream oil & gas facilities
  • Support unconventional oil & gas facilities, including greenfield and brownfield projects
  • Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Ensure compliance with NEC code and ISA standards
  • Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and vendors during execution phases
  • Support and manage projects, schedules, and budgets as part ofproject management responsibilities
  • Participate in field walk-downs, commissioning, and startup activities during site visits

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering required.
  • 10-15+ yrs. of experience in Instrumentation & Controls and Electrical Engineering required.
  • Low- and Medium-Voltage systems experience required.
  • Strong experience with I&E engineering, construction, and commissioning
  • Automation and control systems experience required.
  • Experience supporting unconventional oil & gas facilities required.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and ISA standards required.
  • Proven project management experience required.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, agility and fit for duty.
  • Understanding of environmental and safe work practices.
