The Remote Ops Compressor Operator supports the Vapor Recovery Unit program by ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of natural gas compression equipment. This Level 2 Compressor Station Operator monitors, troubleshoots, and maintains compressor station systems to maximize runtime, optimize performance, and uphold safety and environmental standards. Operators work from the Vantage (COMET) Remote Operations Center, providing real-time oversight and coordination with field and maintenance teams.
Operate and remotely monitor natural gas compressors, dehydration units, and associated equipment.
Adjust operating parameters to maintain optimal pressure, flow, temperatures, and efficiency.
Conduct routine inspections, trend analysis, and data reviews to identify irregularities.
Perform minor maintenance tasks and assist with compressor, engine, and auxiliary system repairs.
Identify mechanical, process, or equipment issues and escalate to maintenance teams as needed.
Support troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems.
Adhere to all company safety procedures and site-specific requirements.
Maintain accurate daily logs for operating data, maintenance activities, alarm responses, and safety checks.
Report equipment malfunctions or operational deviations promptly.
Utilize digital tools, HMIs, and reporting systems for documentation and surveillance.
2–5+ years of experience in gas compression, oil & gas operations, or industrial maintenance.
Familiarity with rotating equipment, engines, compressors, instrumentation, and process controls.
Ability to work in remote conditions and changing weather environments.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb, bend, stand for long periods, and wear required PPE.
