Overview

The Data Modeler – Net Zero Program Analyst supports operational decarbonization initiatives by managing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets related to emissions, surface facilities, and power systems. This role works closely with field operations and Net Zero project teams to interpret data, identify trends, and help drive emissions-reduction strategies. The position may be based in Midland, TX or at the Houston campus, with occasional travel to Midland required for Houston-based candidates (every other month). This is not a remote or work-from-home role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards used to track emissions data, operational metrics, and facility performance.
  • Pull, structure, and analyze large datasets from various systems such as SiteView, ProCount, and SAP.
  • Perform data validation, quality checks, and trend analysis to support Net Zero initiatives and reporting requirements.
  • Interpret operational and emissions-related data to support decision-making for both existing and new facilities.
  • Collaborate with operations, analytics, and project teams to understand data needs and deliver insights.
  • Assist with integrating data sources and ensuring compatibility across systems (no API programming required; coordination only).
  • Provide analytical support related to surface facilities, emissions estimation, and power distribution/load-shedding activities.
  • Communicate findings through dashboards, reports, and presentations tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis, in the energy or oil and gas industry required.
  • Power BI experience required.
  • Experience with SiteView, ProCount, and/or SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to translate operational data into meaningful insights that support emissions reduction and facility optimization.
  • Background with surface facilities, emissions estimation, or power systems required.
  • Experience with Tableau, Spotfire, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Exposure to data interfaces/APIs (no programming required; conceptual understanding only).
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, and drug test.
