Overview

The I&E Technician II installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and instrumentation equipment in compliance with all applicable rules, standards, and practices. Ensures production equipment operates at established performance levels and product quality standards. Evaluates electrical systems to develop repair plans, documents issues, and verifies corrective actions taken.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, update, and oversee all activities within assigned areas in accordance with laws, regulations, standards, and procedures, with strong emphasis on health, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Support collaboration between operations, engineering, and project teams
  • Provide input and review control specifications and work practices
  • Maintain accountability for electrical and control systems as defined in the Work Management Manual
  • Apply and follow work permits through the Permit To Work System (PTWS)
  • Ensure quality and timely completion of work scheduled by the Maintenance Program
  • Develop personal and team technical skills (new regulations, equipment, methods, etc.)
  • Attend and instruct technical meetings to keep technicians informed of latest specifications, codes, procedures, and technology
  • Maintain open communication on electrical and control issues (safe work practices, training, materials, etc.) with co-workers
  • Support work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and complement other work groups
  • Provide technical support for maintenance and troubleshooting of company electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Generate Management of Change (MOC) requests for electrical/control equipment and follow up with installation inspections per OIMS Element 3
  • Construct, monitor, and inspect new installations for compliance and recommend upgrades as necessary
  • Act as stand-in for the Instrument & Electrical Lead when required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of O&G Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) experience required.

  • TX Journeyman License required.   
  • Associate’s degree, preferred.
  • Experience maintaining electrical systems and instrumentation/control systems in processing plants or offshore production facilities
  • Familiarity with regulations applicable to oil and gas operations
  • Knowledge of OIMS systems, manuals, and procedures
  • Meets safety, administrative, and technical training requirements per company-approved training roadmap
  • Possesses general competencies and Operations Integrity Critical competency requirements as documented in the Operations Training roadmap
  • Proficiency in computing skills
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug test, MVR check, and fit for duty/agility test.
