The Field Operator III is responsible for safe and efficient daily operations across Permian Operations pods. This position requires strong production operations experience, preferably in modern fields such as the Bakken, Permian, or Delaware Basin. The operator will monitor wells and equipment, perform routine field duties, support maintenance activities, and ensure operational integrity in alignment with established safety and operational procedures. This is a rotational role (14/14) based out of COMET in Spring, TX.
Operate wells and field equipment following all operating, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Maintain reliable production by actively monitoring operating conditions and identifying optimization opportunities.
Provide accurate, detailed information during shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations.
Record operational events, abnormalities, and deviations in the logbook in a timely manner.
Function as an Equipment Care Technician and perform basic maintenance or troubleshooting as required.
Monitor corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance activities and support maintenance crews as needed.
Ensure wellheads, tank batteries, and all surface equipment remain in proper working condition.
Provide information on well issues, production rates, and equipment status.
Conduct thorough well diagnostics before initiating any well intervention or Wellwork request.
Assist Wellwork teams during intervention operations.
Collect samples and perform basic field laboratory analysis.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, environmental stewardship, and security practices.
Participate in toolbox talks and required safety meetings.
Respond to alarms and report out-of-service emergency or shutdown systems.
Support emergency response efforts as needed.
Follow incident reporting guidelines and escalate issues appropriately.
Ensure all activities follow regulatory standards and internal operating procedures.
Maintain clear communication with supervisors, maintenance teams, and Wellwork teams.
Keep the Operations Shift Supervisor informed of daily activities, issues, and potential risks.
Help cultivate a strong safety culture within the operations team.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience as a Field Technician or Field Operator.
Production operations experience in modern shale fields (Bakken, Permian, Delaware strongly preferred).
Experience working in production, midstream, tank battery operations, compressor stations, or onshore facilities.
Strong understanding of pipeline operations and associated safety practices.
Ability to identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
Knowledge of emergency procedures and incident response.
Familiarity with operations management tools and processes.
Ability to read and follow operating procedures and safety guidelines.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work safely in a 14/14 rotational schedule and in outdoor field environments.
Comfortable supporting Wellwork and intervention activities when needed.
