Overview

The E&I Construction Specialist is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of electrical and instrumentation systems for oil and gas facilities. They will work with a team of engineers, technicians, and other professionals to ensure that these systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all applicable regulations. 

Responsibilities

  • Electrically qualified per OSHA 1910.269 up to 600V. 
  • Strong knowledge of oil & gas automation and electrical design principles and industry standards. 
  • Knowledgeable of NEC and OSHA standards. 
  • Able to safely supervise electrical contract work. 
  • Able to effectively interface with electrical engineers. 
  • Good computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Capable of installing, troubleshooting, and repairing switchboard control panels and components, motor circuits, building and lighting circuits, and control circuits. 
  • Proficiency at reading electrical installation drawings, circuit schedules, plans, area class, motor schematics, and wiring diagrams. 
  • Deliver scheduled projects on time. 
  • Understanding of Pre-Start Safety Review process (PSSRs) and Management of Change (MOCs). 
  • Proficient in use of engineering documents such as Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Cause & Effects (C&Es), Control Narratives, Wiring Diagrams. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with management, technical, and field personnel. 
  • Work safely around instrumentation and electrical systems. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • 5+ years oil & gas electrical experience with a responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors, and the public. 
  • 3+ years working experience in Oil and Gas as an Electrical Inspector constructing Electrical/Automation control systems and devices at well pads/facilities. 
  • Must meet electrical qualifications per OSHA 1910.269 up to 600V. 
  • Texas Journeyman License preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Pre-Start Safety Review Process (PSSR) and Management of Change (MOC). 
  • Must exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with management, technical, and field personnel. 
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility, and Fit for Duty.
