Overview

The Chemical Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and optimization of chemical pumps in the field in addition to collecting samples of production fluids for testing. Also responsible for flushes and acid jobs we have in the Delaware area.   

Responsibilities

  • Collect samples of production fluid as needed for testing
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance on chemical pumps
  • Document and keep track of pending repairs and completed repairs using our app.
  • Troubleshoot production issues such as corrosion, emulsion, paraffin and solids
  • Monitor production chemical levels and order re-fills as needed
  • Follow along with new wells to see which wells are being called for treatment and for the type of equipment.
  • Coordinate the installation of equipment, and keep all relevant teams involved in the process.
  • Maintain a high safety standard for the team and any contracting company we use on site.
  • Maintain frequent communication with the entire Special Services Team, Production Foremen, Engineers and Lease Operators
  • Perform flushes and acid treatments on wells and follow along the procedure given to them by the production engineers. And schedule the job out with the chemical vendor and trucking company.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of production chemicals and their application.
  • Proficiency with all MS Office Suite programs with emphasis on Excel & Word
  • Operational knowledge of SCADA systems (XSPOC or Ignition) preferred
  • Demonstrate leadership as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Manage multiple tasks and changes to priorities with little notice
  • Ability to self-motivate
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must be physically able to lift >50 lbs and climb ladders/stairways
