Overview

The I&E Technician II will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safe and reliable operation of oil and gas facilities. This role involves working with control systems, field instrumentation, and electrical equipment to support production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and calibration of electrical systems and field instrumentation, including transmitters, sensors, valves, and controllers.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues related to electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and automation equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the proper operation and reliability of instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist in maintaining SCADA systems, communication networks, and HMI interfaces for monitoring and controlling production.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company protocols during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Support the commissioning and start-up of new equipment, systems, or projects.
  • Document work performed, including maintenance reports, test results, and equipment updates.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
  • Adhere to safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in safety meetings.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical maintenance within the oil and gas industry.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Technical certification or associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid US Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. 
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
  • Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Understanding of importance of environmental and safe work practices
