Overview

The Field Operator II supports daily production operations by safely operating and maintaining wells and field equipment. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and safety of field operations while assisting with routine maintenance, data entry, and communication between crews and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor field equipment and wells to achieve daily production targets.
  • Participate in toolbox and safety meetings; promote a strong safety culture.
  • Conduct regular surveillance of wells and facilities to identify optimization or corrective actions.
  • Perform minor maintenance and function as an Equipment Care Technician.
  • Record daily operational events and equipment status in the logbook.
  • Collect product samples and perform basic field tests.
  • Support and communicate with the Operations Shift Supervisor regarding all activities and issues.
  • Coordinate and monitor maintenance activities (corrective, predictive, and preventive).
  • Provide detailed turnover notes during shift changes.
  • Assist with emergency response efforts and report incidents per company guidelines.
  • Ensure wellhead and surface equipment are properly maintained prior to well intervention work.
  • Provide operational input and assistance during wellwork and maintenance projects.
  • Oversee small field crews (2–3 members) and ensure safe, efficient task completion.

Qualifications

  • 2+ yrs. of oil and gas field operations experience required.
  • Previous experience as a Lease Operator required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Strong computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Knowledge of pipeline operations, production systems, and field maintenance practices.
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug test (UA), MVR check,  and fit for duty/agility test
