Performs maintenance and repair work on mechanical systems and equipment used in oil and gas operations. Works under the direction of a supervisor and in coordination with mechanical engineers to plan, test, and implement maintenance solutions that ensure safe, reliable operations.
Estimate workload to establish completion dates and timelines.
Assist mechanical engineers with planning and testing of components, equipment, and machinery (e.g., engines, instruments, controls, and rotating equipment).
Prepare proposals, estimates, and maintenance reports as required.
Participate actively in all on-the-job safety programs and tools.
Review job packs, identify safety issues, and ensure mitigation prior to starting work.
Execute work according to plan and record technical history (Global Reliability Tool, data sheets, etc.).
Provide feedback on job pack improvements to the Execution FLS.
Request permits and notify the supervisor if permits cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.
5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in oil and gas, refining, or industrial facilities
Hands-on compressor or rotating equipment experience required (reciprocating or centrifugal compressors, gas engines, pumps, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills with rotating equipment, engines, and mechanical systems
Proficient with mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and maintenance documentation systems (SAP, Maximo, or similar)
Knowledge of safety procedures including LOTO, PTW, and safe work permitting
Ability to work independently and within a multi-discipline maintenance team
Strong communication skills — able to describe field conditions and recommend corrective actions
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
