The Land Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and documenting the movement of goods and materials in and out of the facility via land transportation. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping, timely shipments, proper receipt of deliveries, and compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents.
Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to customer, carrier, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records in inventory and warehouse management systems.
Schedule and coordinate pick-ups and deliveries with land carriers (trucking, freight, or courier services).
Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as required.
Ensure goods are stored properly, organized, and protected from damage.
Resolve discrepancies related to damaged goods, missing items, or incorrect shipments.
Generate and review bills of lading, shipping manifests, and other transport documents.
Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure efficient flow of goods.
Maintain compliance with safety procedures, DOT regulations, and company policies.
High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or logistics training preferred).
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics required.
Knowledge of land transportation and freight documentation processes.
Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Computer proficiency (inventory systems, MS Office, or WMS).
Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
