Overview

The Warehouse Lead will work directly with Site Leadership, and is accountable for client relationship, support and execution of SCM strategies concerning materials management, execute assurance processes including investigations and resolution of issues and/or problems that arise related to inventory management, warehouse operations and logistics, among others. The Warehouse Lead works closely with Operations, to coordinate all necessary resources to support all material activity related to logistics, inventory and shipping and receiving.  Dedication and sensitivity to safety issues and compliance with policies and procedures are essential for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the the facilities, including but not limited to warehouses and laydown yards.

Responsibilities

The Warehouse Lead is responsible, but not limited to:

  • Lead the execution and implementation of materials management processes and procedures.
  • Coordinates and accounts for warehouse stocking levels, determines adequate spare parts inventory to minimize warehousing costs and maximize availability of critical parts.
  • Work with customers and shippers suppliers to establish and control inventory levels, returns, disposal, etc.
  • Manages required warehouse documentation including shipping and receiving manifest.
  • Plans warehouse activity in accordance with the customer material schedules.
  • Develop, review, update materials management procedures including processes, tasks and responsibilities under materials management (inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics). Procedures and processes shall be in accordance with guidelines, internal controls and assurance programs.
  • Conducts inventory and asset reconciliations for company records.
  • Ensures all facilities are maintained in accordance with government regulations and safety standards, and adequate records and documents are initiated and maintained.
  • Coordinate and expedite delivery dates for materials as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of the transaction reduction programs to optimize resources and build efficiencies into the procurement process.
  • Support and deliver robust warehouse managment and minimizes business risks.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems warehouse modules preferred. 
  • Knowledge of 3rd Party warehouse management system (WMS) or ablility to learn is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including email and document writing. 
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in a team environment. 
  • Preferred: Warehouse experience in shipping/receiving/loading and off-loading trucks, material movement, and material scrapping.
