We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation systems in industrial environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), instrumentation, control systems, and related hardware/software used in process automation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience working in industrial or oil and gas settings.
Install, calibrate, and maintain automation equipment including sensors, transmitters, control valves, and PLCs.
Troubleshoot and repair automation systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems and instrumentation.
Configure and update PLC and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) programs.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to support automation projects.
Maintain documentation on system configurations, wiring diagrams, and maintenance records.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Provide technical support for system upgrades and process improvements
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience working with automation systems in an industrial, manufacturing, or oil and gas environment.
Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
Understanding of SCADA systems, RTUs, and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if field travel is required).
