Overview

The Field Operator is responsible for operating wells and equipment in accordance with safety procedures and operational guidelines to meet daily production targets. This role plays a key part in reducing equipment failure, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and supporting field maintenance and intervention activities. The Field Operator is also responsible for participating in safety initiatives and maintaining accurate operational records.

Responsibilities

  • Operate wells and equipment safely and efficiently in line with daily operational plans
  • Implement and uphold safety, health, environmental, and security objectives on a daily basis
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency response activities
  • Monitor wells and field equipment continuously to identify and implement corrective and optimization actions
  • Perform simple maintenance tasks as Equipment Care Technician
  • Coordinate and monitor maintenance work per corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance plans
  • Log all relevant operational events and deviations in the daily logbook
  • Take product samples and perform basic field lab analysis
  • Communicate shift handovers clearly to ensure operational continuity
  • Support Wellwork operations by ensuring wellhead and equipment are maintained and available for intervention
  • Provide basic diagnostics and production data related to well issues
  • Ensure clear communication with the Operations Shift Supervisor and across the field team
  • Report alarms, system shutdowns, and safety incidents in accordance with company guidelines

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience as a Field Technician or similar role in oil and gas operations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High standard of safety, health, and environmental practices
  • Extensive knowledge of pipeline and production operations
  • Familiarity with safety and operations management tools and emergency procedures
  • Understanding of project philosophy, design specifications, and relevant regulations
  • Awareness of applicable commercial agreements
