The Mainline Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment supporting pipeline and midstream operations. This includes compressors, pumps, valves, and other components critical to the safe and efficient transportation of oil and gas. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with rotating equipment, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mainline compressors, pumps, valves, and associated pipeline equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and repair or replace faulty components on engines, turbines, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
Conduct inspections of mainline systems to identify wear, corrosion, leaks, and other maintenance needs.
Document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance in maintenance tracking systems.
Assist with mechanical installation and commissioning of new mainline and pipeline equipment.
Support pigging operations and ensure pig launchers and receivers are in working condition.
Maintain shop tools and field equipment to ensure readiness and proper functionality.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lockout/tagout and confined space entry practices.
Respond to emergency repairs or callouts as needed, including during nights or weekends.
1+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in oil and gas or pipeline operations.
Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, valves, and rotating equipment.
Familiarity with pipeline systems, pigging operations, and mechanical integrity programs.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM manuals.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations as needed.
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and wear required PPE.
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and company-specific safety standards is a plus.
