Overview

The Fab Shooter is responsible for assisting in the execution of well testing operations, including monitoring, data collection, and tool activation at the wellsite. This role plays a critical part in evaluating well performance and reservoir characteristics during exploration, completion, or production testing phases. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, precise timing, and strong communication skills during flowback and pressure control operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with rig-up/rig-down of well testing equipment
  • Operate and maintain test separators, flowlines, tanks, and pressure control equipment
  • Accurately initiate test sequences (e.g., shoot or trigger surface/downhole tools) as directed
  • Monitor well performance and record pressure, flow rates, and temperature data
  • Communicate with the lead operator or engineer to coordinate shooting schedules and test stages
  • Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, calibrated, and prepared for transport
  • Follow company and client safety standards and perform risk assessments
  • Support troubleshooting of surface equipment and field instrumentation
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation for reporting purposes

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or oilfield certifications preferred

  • 1+ years of well testing or flowback experience (Fab shooting experience highly desirable)

  • Understanding of pressure control operations and safety procedures

  • Ability to read and interpret well schematics and pressure charts

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and field troubleshooting skills

  • Willingness to work in remote locations and long shifts (including nights and weekends)

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
