Overview

The CPMSC Local Deployment Specialist is the key integrator of implementing S4 as part of the local deployment team, with natural working team relationships across many ADC functions.  The role will manage/co-manage local implementation of SAP S4 for the CPMSC pillar. The Local Deployment Specialist will significantly contribute to:

  1. Delivering the transformational value of the ADC program.
  2. Minimizing the disruption to asset operations during the deployment of ADC.
  3. Achieving a “predictable” ADC Go-Live with staff that are both confident and capable in the new solution and ways of working.

Responsibilities

Work with the Local Asset Deploy Team (including associated SBO teams), Local and Global ADC System Design and Change Teams, and Central Deployment Teams to execute standardised deployment activities for the new S/4 solution in the asset including:

  • Drive completion of business deployment activities and deliverables for your pillar, within the local assets and SBOs per program phase including:

Discovery and Prepare: Data Cleanse and Preparation; Discovery and Fit-to-Standard (FtS); Preparation of Local Impact Assessment and Asset Scoping (e.g., local assessment of system scope/requirements/known deviations.)

Explore (Design): Fit-to-Standard (FtS) execution (e.g., agree on local legal & fiscal variations to Global ADC Template, sign-off (incl. scope closure); Training needs analysis; Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

Build and Test: Data conversions; IT and business testing; Training content development and train-the-tester; system org. design and security role mapping

Cutover: Data migration; system activity ramp down/up; End user training

Go-Live and Hypercare: Monitor, support, stabilize system operations and value realization.

  • Work directly with ADC data teams and local business to clean-up/prepare large quantities of data to enable standardisation per global pillar Enterprise Data Model (EDM). Leverage your knowledge of local data structures to transform the data and implement the revised, ISO standard ADC data model.
  • Provide asset knowledge throughout the stages of deployment, from discovery to Fit-to-Standard (FtS) through testing, training, cutover, go-live and Hypercare/stabilisation.
  • Function as part of the Local Deployment Team (led by Asset Business Project Manager (BPM)), including close integration with other pillar leads to champion, progress and monitor the pulse of the local organization throughout the ADC journey.
  • Partner with the Change Management team to support local delivery of Change Management activities throughout the entire S4 journey, including communications, learning strategy, development of localised materials and learning delivery.
  • Enable the transformation of our simplified connected applications (CAPs) portfolios.
  • Support local Change Management activities to mitigate risks associated with the impact of ADC.
  • Co-chair and deliver localised content for Local Change Networks.
  • Work closely and collaborate with peers across other ADC deploy in other areas of Shell’s business.
  • Aid in the effective mobilization of the project teams to deliver SAP S4 deployment per schedule and standard CP-S4H Deployment Model.
  • Deliver Project execution in a way that is fit for the future – with an agile, integrated, data-driven, approach (e.g., mindset/behaviour, methodology, process)
  • Adhere to a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits.
  • Ensure applicable stakeholder change and communication plans/engagements are developed and executed.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to validate the program’s strategic business case, define success metrics & criteria, and to identify, measure, & sustain planned vs. achieved benefits. Proactively identify additional benefits to be delivered via use of systems, processes, and data already in place or being deployed.
  • Apply Shell project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support.
  • Able to identify appropriate and effective Governance structures and procedures to obtain resources, drive decisions, resolve issues, and deliver project/program objectives.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, adjusted to changing conditions.
