Overview

The Field Service Technician performs moderately complex customer support activities, including installations, routine repairs, and maintenance of chemical injection pumps and accessories used in Oil and Gas production.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, routine repairs, and maintenance of chemical injection pumps and accessories. 
  • Operate and maintain equipment used in the production of Oil and Gas. 
  • Monitor and adjust pump systems, control chemical injection rates, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the production process. 
  • Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks. 
  • Collect samples using a Draeger pump to assess the quality of the oilfield fluids. 
  • Assemble different parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. 
  • Inspect materials, components, subassemblies, etc., to ensure they meet accepted quality standards. 
  • Install and troubleshoot communication equipment. 
  • Read and follow work instructions, work orders, production drawings, and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. 
  • Process and submit customer service transactions such as service tickets accurately. 
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding the availability of in-stock items. 
  • Answer basic inquiries from customers, providing basic technical product and application support. 
  • Work alone and/or under general supervision. 
  • Develop good working relationships with customers through frequent and professional written and verbal communication. 
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers when delivering both good and bad information. 
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures. 
  • Work unconventional hours and potentially weekends to provide the required level of service on occasion. 
  • Attend work in a predictable and regular manner. 
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately. 

Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical training or certification, or equivalent experience preferred; High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when requested. 
  • Experience taking water, gas, and oil samples preferred. 
  • Familiarity with oilfield chemicals, pumps, water pumps, etc., preferred. 
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety, proper hand and power tool use, and motorized material movement equipment. 
  • Proficient in MS Outlook and Excel. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and various levels of management. 
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must be able to travel away from the shop daily. 
  • Speak, read, and write English fluently. 
  • Follow all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements. 
  • Must meet all conditional job offer requirements, including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility, and fit for duty. 
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs. 
  • Walking, bending, and stooping required. 
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including the use of a respirator. 
  • Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
