Overview

The position of a 14x14 rotational Shelf Senior Operator entails overseeing the startup, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of process and utility systems, ensuring they operate within specified parameters and meet quality standards. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting to optimize sales quality and delivery volume, maintaining compliance with environmental guidelines, conducting equipment testing and maintenance, and facilitating a safe work environment through risk assessments and clear communication. Additionally, the position involves maintaining accurate records, witnessing calibrations, and fostering positive working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and assist crew with daily testing, repairs, and maintenance of all equipment and safety devices.
  • Responsible for following safety procedures and maintaining safety data.
  • Conduct daily safety walks and talks with all operations personnel; participate in the company’s daily Safety, Quality and Environmental program.
  • Ensure that all platforms, process equipment are functioning efficiently, with any failure of safety critical elements to meet performance standards being reported immediately to the Production Supervisor. 
  • Maintain required operational log sheets, maintenance records, production reports, and BSEE testing records.
  • Manage, monitor, and report all discharges and emissions in compliance with Environmental limits.
  • Ensure all operations personnel are working in a safe manner, wearing proper PPE, and following the company’s Safety, Quality, and Environmental program.
  • Produce wells at the rate client is requesting.
  • Operate, test, and repair safety shutdown devices.
  • Verify emergency equipment and ESD system are in good operating conditions.
  • In the role of Area Authority ensure that all work is performed according to the conditions outlined on the Permit to Work. Identify hazards and assess and manage risks.
  • Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility Systems
  • Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc.) within operating requirements.
  • Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon.
  • Troubles shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.
  • Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems
  • Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required by company and client.
  • Witness third party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.
  • Prove export oil meters.
  • Carry out all operations in safe and environmentally sound manner. Operate offshore production facility in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain, and inspect equipment.
  • Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and government agencies.
  • Coordinate logistics for facility.
  • Chemical treating and handling
  • Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.
  • Operation under PTW system, Toolbox Talk and Risk Assessments.
  • Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
  • Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.
  • Control activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Create and maintain positive work culture.

Qualifications

  • Transportation costs covered by customer to and from California crew change location if candidate lives out of state. 14x14 rotation schedule.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 8+ years’ experience working offshore as a Production Operator on a production platform
  • Offshore production operating preferred.
  • Boat transfer and swing rope experience preferred
  • Previous H2S field experience preferred
  • Good experience of Permit to Work

Compensation Range

Salary: USD $45.00/Hr. - USD $45.00/Hr.
