Overview

The Plant Mechanic position is a critical role within the Gas Plant, focusing on the maintenance and operational efficiency of various processes including NGL Recovery and fuel manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the plant, which involves a range of equipment and processes such as amine sweetening units, molecular sieve dehydration, Turbo Expander Units, and various gas and air compression units. The plant operates several types of compressors, including slow-speed reciprocating gas compressors and electric-driven Ariel reciprocating compressors, which are essential for compressing raw produced gas for further processing. The role demands availability for callouts and overtime, reflecting the operational needs of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles during daily activities.
  • Monitor facilities to identify operational problems.
  • Perform routine maintenance of process and compression equipment.
  • Shutdown and start-up of equipment (pumps, facilities, equipment, etc.).
  • Provide oral and written communication of activities to appropriate personnel.
  • Interact with contract personnel.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Promote the company's EHS philosophy and culture.
  • Perform Lockout and Tag-out duties for maintenance work.
  • Complete appropriate documentation.
  • Use Maximo to complete Work Orders as needed.
  • Be a contributing member of the PSM Teams.
  • Be available for call out during work week or when required.
  • Perform manual labor.
  • Serve as a representative to contract activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance of process and compression equipment.
  • Monitor facilities for operational issues.
  • Execute shutdown and start-up procedures for various equipment.
  • Promote the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) philosophy.
  • Perform Lockout and Tag-out duties and completing documentation.
  • Utilize Maximo for work orders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in oil and gas operations.
  • Experience in gas processing.
  • Experience in gas compression maintenance and operations.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Technical Degree in applicable field preferred.
  • Solid safety and environmental practices.
  • Experience using Maximo.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Self-starter with a high drive for results.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work with a team and take direction from supervisors.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to work rules.
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call rotation and on-site response within 45 minutes of callouts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
