Overview

The position of Deepwater Operator A/Compliance is responsible for reviewing BSEE and EPA required plans, ensuring unbiased observations, verifying correction of deficiencies, conducting site safety visits, and working with government agencies and entails overseeing the startup, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of process and utility systems, ensuring they operate within specified parameters and meet quality standards. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting to optimize sales quality and delivery volume, maintaining compliance with environmental guidelines, conducting equipment testing and maintenance, and facilitating a safe work environment through risk assessments and clear communication. Additionally, the position involves maintaining accurate records, witnessing calibrations, and fostering positive working relationships. 

Responsibilities

  • Start up, operate, monitor and shut down process and utility systems.
  • Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (level, flow, temperature, pressure etc.) within operating requirements.
  • Review BSEE and EPA required plans, procedures, diagrams, and manuals referenced on the Compliance Checklist.
  • Participate in the daily safety meeting, as applicable, and discuss relevant SEMS and compliance topics and answer SEMS-related questions.
  • Complete Compliance Checklist and review it with the applicable PIC and field foreman.
  • Submit Checklist to the email distribution identified by the HSE Supervisor.
  • Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon.
  • Troubles shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.
  • Maintain discharge water quality within current SBMPC or local guidelines.
  • Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, fire and gas systems.
  • Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required by company and client.
  • Witness third party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.
  • Prove export oil meters.
  • Carry out all operations in safe and environmentally sound manner.
  • Operate offshore production facility in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain and inspect equipment.
  • Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and government agencies.
  • Coordinate logistics for facility.
  • Chemical treating and handling.
  • Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.
  • Operation under PTW system, Toolbox Talk and Risk Assessments.
  • Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
  • Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.
  • Control activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Create and maintain positive work culture.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of offshore production operator experience on a production platform.
  • Experience with SEMS plans, policies and procedures and completion of compliance paperwork.
  • Familiarity with BSEE/USCG/EPA safety, environmental testing, and related programs.
  • Experience in testing Fire and Gas devices, subsea safety valve testing, etc.
  • Good organizational skills are necessary along with the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent writing skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other related software required.
  • Should be familiar with production equipment.
  • Organizational skills to maintain platform.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in a team environment.
  • Safety-oriented.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
