Overview

The IT Tech plays a crucial role in supporting the technical infrastructure and end-user systems within an oil and gas environment. This position is responsible for resolving escalated technical issues, managing user accounts, ensuring secure network access, and maintaining IT assets. The role involves working with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure AD, SCCM, Intune, and VPN technologies to ensure smooth operations across remote and on-site employees. Additionally, the IT Tech collaborates with system administrators to escalate infrastructure issues, provides documentation for troubleshooting, and trains junior IT staff to enhance overall support capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support for end-users, handling escalated tickets related to software, hardware, and network issues.
  • Administer and manage user accounts in Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 using service now tickeing system.
  • Troubleshoot VPN, remote desktop, and connectivity issues for remote employees.
  • Deploy and manage software updates, patches, and security configurations using SCCM and Intune.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining IT assets, ensuring accurate inventory tracking.
  • Work with system administrators to escalate and resolve server or infrastructure-related problems.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and create knowledge base articles to improve support efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior IT support staff and end-users.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of IT Tech experience required. 
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with Windows OS, hardware, and networking issues.
  • Experience managing Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems for handling support requests.
  • Hands-on experience with VPN, remote desktop support, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of SCCM and Intune for deploying software updates and managing endpoints.
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Ability to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug/hair follicle test, MVR, agility, etc.
