Overview

Works on installation and repairs of safety systems associated with production and operations of offshore production platforms. Supervises assigned Pneumatic Technician III and Pneumatic Helper to perform and assist with same operations. Learning pneumatic control panel logic and safe charts.

Responsibilities

  • Access rigs via boat or helicopter. May have to swing from a rope from crew boat to access platform. Installation requirements and length of time to complete task vary from job to job.
  • Main duties include working with technicians, fitters, and helpers on proven techniques used in installation and repairs of pneumatic safety systems.
  • Must complete time tickets and material tickets, prepare proper JSA for tasks at hand, understand use of proper personal protective equipment.
  • May have to work at heights wearing fall protection gear. May work from ladders or scaffolding. May handle small toolboxes or tool belts while installing and repairing.
  • Must be able to use and read tape measure, use tubing benders, squares levels, o ring kits, wrenches, channel lock pliers, socket sets, drills, and cutting devices using strong wrist action

Qualifications

  • According to this analysis, this job is classified as medium: lifting a maximum of fifty pounds, frequent lifting and or carrying of objects up to twenty pounds, unrestricted walking and standing sixty percent of the time.
  • Must successfully complete agility test.
  • Must use swing ropes, personnel basket for transfer from marine vessels to platforms, stand for eight hours, sit for four hours, lift tool bag and small equipment on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to safety drive six to eight hours to and from job sites.
