Overview

The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing customer support activities, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of chemical injection pumps and related accessories. This role involves assembling product parts, inspecting materials to ensure quality standards, and troubleshooting communication equipment. The technician is expected to read and follow various types of work instructions and provide accurate service transaction processing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately complex customer support activities, including installations, routine repairs and maintenance of chemical injection pumps and accessories.
  • Assemble different parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Inspect all materials, components, subassemblies, etc. to assure they meet the accepted quality standards.
  • Install and troubleshoot communication equipment.
  • Read and follow work instructions, work orders, production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Process and submit customer service transactions such as service tickets accurately.
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding availability of in-stock items.
  • Answer basic inquiries from customers providing basic technical product and applications support.
  • Refers customers to local sales representative for further sales & service requests.
  • Drive a company vehicle and makes deliveries to customer locations.
  • Obtains signatures for deliveries made, as required.
  • Work alone and/or under general supervision
  • Develop good working relationships with customers through frequent and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Communicate professionally & effectively with customers when delivering both good and bad information.
  • Know and complies with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work unconventional hours and potentially weekends to provide our required level of service on occasion.
  • Attend work in predictable and regular manner.
  • Participate in Lean events with active involvement in CI initiatives.
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticed.

Qualifications

  • Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Vocational / Technical training or certification, or equivalent experience preferred;
    • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends when requested and holidays as requested.
    • Basic knowledge of industrial safety, proper hand and power tool use, and other motorized material movement equipment.
    • Familiarity with oilfield chemicals, pumps, water pumps, etc. preferred.

    • Proficient in MS Outlook and Excel.
    • High Mechanical aptitude.
    • High accuracy in data entry.
    • Strong Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and various levels of management.
    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with a high level of persistency in meeting delivery schedules.
    • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to travel away from the shop daily.
    • Speak, read, and write English fluently.
    • Follow all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements.
    • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
