Overview

The Material Handler will manage day-to-day inventory operations, ensuring efficient and safe handling, storage, and distribution of materials. This role requires collaboration with various professionals and adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's inventory. 
  • Work with a team of engineers, technicians, and other professionals to ensure that inventory is received, stored, and issued in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. 
  • Interact effectively with internal and external clients. 
  • Support asset within the region assigned on movement of material and disposals. 
  • Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near work site. 
  • Inspects materials for quality/defects. 
  • Manually moves materials onto or from pallets and shelves. 
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. 
  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. 
  • Cleans work area, machines, and equipment. 
  • Assembles crates to contain products when required. 
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. 
  • Adheres to all safety rules and regulations. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; two-year degree preferred. 
  • Two (2) years of related experience in material handling. 
  • Strong analytical abilities with advanced MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP data entry. 
  • Ability to travel daily. 
  • Experience working in an operations environment is preferred, including knowledge and use of handheld scanners and lift truck certification. 
  • Utilize multi-limb coordination and flexibility combined with control precision to perform fine motor skills including finger manipulation, grasping, feeling, arm-hand steadiness, in order to push, pull or lift objects. 
  • Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 
  • Work involves climbing at heights at or above six feet. 
  • Utilizes multi-limb coordination to balance on even or uneven surfaces, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, and walk, reach over shoulders or below the knees. 
  • Auditory attention and hearing sensitivity is required, as candidates must possess the ability to distinguish various sounds that serve as key maintenance indicators. 
  • Must employ the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
