Overview

The 14 x 14 rotational offshore, deep water EHS Specialist is responsible for evaluating health and safety data and recommending actions that promote a safe and healthy working and/or general environment.

Responsibilities

  • To lead EHS compliance with Safety Management System elements and SEMS elements., Stop Work Policy, PTW Competency Assessments
  • To lead Behavior Based Observation program and provide direction and influence to improve the process. 
  • Ensuring all external and regulatory interfaces are in place and managed effectively
  • Delivery of EHS section of the annual plan and/or agreed delivery expectations
  • Coach and develop the facility team to continuously improve the EHS safety culture
  • Understand and manage operating risk to prevent accidents and harm to people, to reduce damage to the environment and achieve competitive performance.
  • Act as Facility Bow Ties Champion and ensure implementation of this process into PTW and other daily process
  • Function as the owner and system administrator of the electronic PTW system with ability to perform training and trouble shoot issues that are brought forward.
  • Lead occupational safety heath issues related to noise, Welfare, and hygiene
  • Function as the facility Lead for Waste Management Process, provide direction to establish a facility Waste Management System and Champions of each area.
  • Support the EHS performance data gathering, analysis, monitoring and reporting system
  • Ensure EHS Lessons Learned & best practice are integrated into the facility operations
  • Provide technical advice to the facility team on Risk Assessment, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, MAR, ORA’s
  • Coach, train and audit facility team to continuously improve personal safety and process safety.
  • Work with the Team to continuously improve process safety understanding and performance.
  • Accountable for delivering Health and Hygiene processes and performance via facility Medic.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental procedures & reporting requirements.
  • Continuously improve environmental performance.
  • Responsible for review, improving, document control of facility EHS procedures
  • Responsible for technical advice, coaching and training facility team in use of Incident reporting system (Synergi) and investigation methodology’s i.e. (5Whys, RCA, RCFA)
  • Act as an evaluator of the facility ERT (Emergency Response Team) as directed by OIM.
  • Responsible for agreeing and reporting EHS metrics, performance and KPIs
  • Surveys, compiles, and analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure, radiation, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dusts, vapors, mists, gases, solvents, lighting, and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health.
  • Performs field and safety measurements, safety evaluations, and hazardous waste evaluations.
  • Develops or provides input to hazardous material communications, including maintaining material data sheets.
  • Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
  • Directs workers engaged in field and laboratory verification of compliance with health regulations.
  • Provides technical guidance to management, labor organizations, government agencies, and civic groups regarding health-related problems and correct use of protective clothing or accessories.
  • Monitors the company's health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develops and implements a program and system to track and evaluate worker injuries.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong preference for a degree in relevant Technical Discipline or equivalent strong practical experience
  • Should possess analytical skills to manipulate data spread sheets along with highly developed computer literacy
  • Good general Presentation skills with a high standard of spoken and written English
  • A minimum of 8-10 years EHS experience in E&P Operations and Production and Global experience within the industry preferred in depth working knowledge of
  • Core knowledge and function of offshore operations process
  • Electronic PTW/ risk assessment / hazard management processes
  • Incident reporting, investigation methodologies and human factors assessor
  • Facility level audit and assessment process
  • Experience in developing and implementing polices standards and procedures in the offshore environment.
  • Waste Management Process, development and implementation
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with good interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with effective oral and written communication to both internal and external audiences
  • Ability to work an offshore 14x14 rotation schedule.
