Overview

The Senior Facility Engineer is responsible for ensuring the uptime and operational efficiency of CO2 production and injection systems, as well as overseeing water disposal, production separation, facility heat media, well testing, tankage/vapor recovery, and other related processes.

Responsibilities

 

  • Report directly to the Business Unit (BU) and handle project planning, scoping, estimating, and execution.
  • Manage engineering services and oversee construction activities handled by the Project Management (PM) department or Operations.
  • Oversee and manage capital/LOE project budgets related to surface facilities.
  • Collaborate with teams (PE, RM, PM, Operations) to optimize CO2 and conventional surface production facilities, implementing solutions to improve productivity, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor CO2 production systems, analyzing pressures, temperatures, and operational performance to maintain mechanical integrity.
  • Serve as the Technical Point of Contact for maintenance and construction staff, supporting day-to-day operations.
  • Participate in design reviews, including PFD, P&ID, and model reviews.
  • Develop and coordinate commissioning and start-up procedures for CO2 and conventional facilities.
  • Ensure project compliance with permits and regulations required by local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Support the development and implementation of company standards and processes (MOC, project execution, mechanical integrity/reliability).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering required. 
  • Minimum of 10+ years in facility engineering.
  • Experience with CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery is required.
  • Working knowledge of ANSI/ASME, DOT, and API codes as related to the oil & gas industry

  • Experience with and understanding Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), Plot Plans, Plan and Section Drawings, and ISO’s

  • Experience with Wiring Diagrams, Area Classification, and Electrical On-line Drawings

  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Hydraulic Modeling Software (HYSYS, PipeSim, GAP) strongly preferred

  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
  • Physical Requirements - Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds and wearing personal protective equipment when needed. Constant use of a computer and office machinery. Ability to sit for long periods.
