Overview

A Lead Offshore Roustabout is responsible for overseeing rigging operations to safely move heavy equipment, supplies, and structures on offshore platforms. They coordinate with engineers, crane operators, and crew members to plan and execute lifts according to project specifications and safety standards. Their duties include inspecting rigging gear, calculating load capacities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and leading a team of roustabouts to perform complex lifts in challenging offshore conditions. Strong leadership, experience with offshore equipment, and adherence to safety protocols are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Lead Roustabouts are to perform duties in accordance with the latest revision of OPS0055 and as directed to include, but not limited to, the below list:

  • Operate the crane within the restrictions of their authorization level.
  • Ask supervising Crane Operator (or Deck Operator, if applicable) for advice any time there is a question about a particular load.
  • Coach roustabouts in the safe operation, inspection and maintenance of cranes and associated rigging equipment in full compliance with the established policies and procedures described in OPS0055.
  • Wire rope inspection.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of offshore experience
  • Roustabout Certification
  • Prior role in a supervisor role
  • Knowledge or experience in running a crane
