Overview

The position of Well Runner is responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, operating and maintaining field equipment and facilities, surveillance of general field operations and maintenance of various databases regarding production and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Keeping an eye on equipment and production levels to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
  • Recording data related to well performance, such as pressure and temperature readings.
  • Identifying and addressing operational issues under the guidance of more experienced operators.
  • Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and regulatory agencies. 
  • General housekeeping and field maintenance. 
  • Computer knowledge: proficient with MS Windows environment. 
  • Strong initiative and self-starter.  
  • Ability to keep neat and accurate records.  
  • Multi-task orientation with skills related to work prioritizing. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills in a team environment. 

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Well Runner experience preferred. Will consider Roustabout, Roustabout Pusher, SWD Operator experience or candidates with NMJC Lease Operator Training Certificate accepted.
  • Must live in Odessa, Midland area to be considered.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required. 
  • Must be able to pass all conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug screening, hair follicle, MVR, agility, fit for duty.
  • Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Understanding of importance of environmental and safe work practices.
