Overview

The role of I&E Quality Assurance Inspector entails working with a growing QA team in a high paced environment as we serve our customers in inspecting electrical construction for both our F&C and M&C (Capital & Operations Expensed) projects like new tankless process facilities, central gas lift compression sites, gas lift well sites, cathodic protection projects and winterization projects.

Responsibilities

  • Verify all electrical equipment installations meet IFC drawings, NEC code, Oxy Electrical Construction Standard, API 500, manufactures installation instructions and area classification requirements for intended purpose.
  • Review issued for construction drawings for errors and verify their field application.
  • Attend 90% CCW walks and create IWL’s for the installation.
  • Attend IWL meetings to assign priorities, references, responsible company, and dates to each IWL.
  • Visit sites to verify completion and accept of the QC signed off correction to each IWL.
  • Work with the turnover coordinator to add and remove IWL’s.
  • Attend PSSR walks upon completion of construction on all projects.
  • Regular visits to vendors to ensure compliance with IFC drawings, code, manufactures installation instructions, and Oxy Electrical Construction Standard.
  • Preform regular visits to active F&C and M&C projects.
  • Verification or witness required tests (Megger, ground loop check, VLF-Hi pot)
  • Work with contractor QC on punch list items and issues the QC may come across during construction.
  • Verification of proper training/certificate and required license of contractor personal.
  • Review contractors job book to ensure required testing and documentation was properly kept and turned over at completion of construction.
  • Participate in weekly F&C and M&C meetings.

Qualifications

  • I&E Quality Assurance experience is required.
  • Oil & gas experience is preferred.
  • Candidate will have opportunities to work with facility engineering teams, electrical/automation engineering teams and third-party contractor QC teams.
  • Must exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with management, technical, and field personnel.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility, Fit for Duty.
